Senior Network Engineer

Location: Washington, DC (In-Person Only)

Type: Full-time |  U.S. Citizenship Required

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance or higher (required)

What You Will Do

  • Design & implement secure LAN/WAN architectures (Layer 2/3 protocols)
  • Optimize protocol behavior in Linux environments using C/C++, Python, Bash
  • Analyze traffic with Wireshark, tcpdump; simulate with CORE/NS3
  • Collaborate on secure network designs and real-world deployments
  • Mentor junior engineers and shape tooling, automation, and IETF standards
     

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years network engineering (protocols & secure infrastructure)
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, routing architecture
  • Strong Linux command-line and networking internals knowledge
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Shell scripting
  • Experience with simulation tools (CORE, NS3, EMANE)
  • U.S. Citizenship & Active Secret Clearance
  • Willingness to work on-site in Washington, DC

About the Role

We’re seeking a Mid-Level Software Developer with deep expertise in network protocols to join our advanced systems team. 


This is not a web or application development position—your work will drive core protocol and systems-level innovation in secure, mission-critical communications.


What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain protocol-level software in C/C++ or Rust on Linux 
  • Optimize network stack behavior and routing protocols for real-world use cases
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues using Wireshark, tcpdump, and custom logging
  • Simulate dynamic network environments with CORE, NS3, or EMANE
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on secure, high-performance architectures
  • Contribute to open standards (IETF) and DevSecOps pipelines
     

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years hands-on network protocol software development
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), Layer 3
  • Strong Linux systems development, networking internals, kernel modules
  • Advanced programming in C/C++ (Rust, Python, shell scripting a plus)
  • Experience with simulation/emulation tools (CORE, NS3, EMANE)
  • Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • U.S. Citizenship required
